Stanford Central Energy Facility

Olson Steel at the request of Stanford University partnered with Whiting -Turner to take on all responsibilities of handling fabrication and erection of the complex structural steel beams, columns and deck support of Stanford's new Replacement Central Energy Facility (RCEF). RCEF will substantially reduce Stanford's energy usage for heating and cooling, resulting in lower criteria air pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions than the existing Central Energy Facility, as well as a substantial reduction in the University's potable water use. Olson Steel was also responsible for the fabrication and installation of miscellaneous metals including stairs, rails, ladders, grating and canopies.
