Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Festival

The renovation of the existing 50,000 square foot University of California Printing Plant building and the construction of a 30,000 square foot addition created a new home for the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive. The new facility consisted of museum galleries, a PFA film theater, viewing rooms, a seminar room, a participatory arts lab, a library, a film study center, a works on paper study center, a café and store, administrative offices, and back-of-house operations. The project targeted LEED Gold certification, and the new facility opened to the public in spring of 2016. Olson Steel was contracted to handle all fabrication and erection of the steel stair requirements.
