Apple's new retail location at the Stanford Mall, consists of approximately 12,000-square-foot with a height of 23-foot-tall. This two-room, pavilion-like store is a fresh and evolutionary direction for the Apple retail program, designed to directly invite one in to experience the product and space underneath a dramatically thin roof. With 180 lineal feet of storefront glass and three entrances, rarely has a store been so visually recognizable and physically accessible. Enclosed by glass on three sides and topped with a cantilevered roof, the new location next to Niemen Marcus is divided into two sections. Olson Steel handled the structural steel erection and miscellaneous metals. requirements. The coordination and design assist complexities of this high-end job allowed Olson to incorporate prior job experiences to execute according to the challenging architectural plans.
